General Insurance Article - New Travel Insurance comparison service to shake up sector

Talk to TIM, a new travel insurance comparison service set to revolutionise the industry, has launched allowing customers to choose to arrange their cover online or talk to a specialist advisor over the phone. Travellers will now be able to tailor their policy, compare availability and terms for any medical conditions, the policy price and the insurer, all in one place with the unique benefit of being able to choose between an online purchase or through talking to an expert in person.

Talk to TIM is the first full comparison service where customers are able to speak to an advisor for free via the dedicated UK contact centre, open six days a week. The new brand allows customers to make informed choices, understand what they’re buying and tailor their cover while saving time and money, either online or over the phone.

Customers will be offered a range of quotes from specialist insurers based on all the criteria they’ve entered and not just delivering the cheapest quote first like other comparison sites. Talk to TIM aims to offer customers choice and quality for the first time, putting customers in control of choosing what suits them rather than having to compromise on cover and buy inflexible packages.

Talk to TIM is the brainchild of Ryan Howsam, Chairman of Staysure, the over-50s travel insurance provider recently listed in the London Stock Exchange Top 1,000 companies to inspire Britain 2015. Drawing on Staysure’s decade-long heritage and success of providing specialist travel insurance, Talk to TIM opens the market to people who previously may have been unable to purchase insurance due to their age or health while also catering for people of all ages with or without a medical condition. Talk to TIM offers annual cover up to the age of 85, while single trip cover has no upper age limit and all pre-existing medical conditions will be considered such as heart conditions, cancer, arthritis and diabetes.

The new comparison service offers competitive rates from a range of quality and established insurers including Cigna, AXA, ERV, Astrenska, UKgeneral and Travel Insurance Facilities. Policies range from Single Trip Cover to Annual Multi Trip packages, as well as dedicated winter sports, cruise and golfing insurance. Customers will also be invited to leave reviews on the site of their claims experience, providing total transparency for users to make informed insurance cover decisions.

Founder Ryan Howsam said: “Customers looking for travel insurance want to know they are getting the best cover for their needs, at a great price, from a company that they can trust. Talk to TIM builds on our long experience in this market and provides exactly that by comparing prices and policy benefits from a range of leading providers. We have designed Talk to TIM to meet the growing demand for travel insurance policies that are uniquely tailored to the individual.”

“Talk to TIM offers transparency and quality and we are committed to offer choice to every customer and are expanding the panel of insurers to continue to provide benefits and competitive rates to our growing customer base.”
