Aon Hewitt appointed by University of St. Andrews for pension advice and administration

Aon Hewitt, the global human resource consulting and outsourcing business of Aon Corporation, has been appointed by the trustees of the University of St Andrews Pension Scheme to supply a broad range of services to the fund.

Aon Hewitt will provide the Scottish university's scheme with services including actuarial and investment advice, pensions administration and risk benefits consultancy. The fund is valued at £65 million and has 1300 members.

Peter Cabrelli, chair of the trustees of the University of St Andrew's scheme, said of the process to take on new advisers, “It was a very difficult decision for the trustees, with excellent submissions received from the short-listed advisers. However, on balance the trustee's decision to appoint Aon Hewitt was driven by the overall quality of the team."

Michael Clare, UK head of Retirement for Aon Hewitt said, "We are very pleased to have met the selection criteria for this wide-ranging opportunity with the University of St Andrews Scheme. Our Edinburgh-based team who will be working with the scheme have considerable knowledge and expertise and they are looking forward to taking on the challenge that it offers."
