Aon Limited has appointed Jim Pettigrew as a non-executive director, with immediate effect. Pettigrew will replace Ron Amy, a long serving member of the Board, who had indicated during 2010 that he wished to retire from his duties.
Pettigrew brings a wealth of experience to Aon. He is a chartered accountant who began his career at Ernst & Young and then spent ten years at Sedgwick Group plc, latterly as deputy group finance director. Pettigrew then moved to ICAP plc for seven years as group finance director, before moving on to be chief operating officer at Ashmore Group plc. Immediately prior to moving into the non-executive director world, he was CEO of CMC Markets plc.
Pettigrew is currently chairman of Edinburgh Investment Trust plc and holds non-executive directorships at Aberdeen Asset Management plc, Hermes, Royal Bank of Canada (Europe) and Pacific Investments and also serves on the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
Paul Manduca, non-executive chairman of Aon Limited, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jim to the board at Aon – he brings with him a depth and breadth of experience and we look forward to working closely with him in the future.”
