General Insurance Article - Brightside launches branded car insurance offering

eCar to be replaced by Brightside Car. Brightside Group, a top 20 UK insurance broker, has today launched Brightside Car, a wholly-owned car insurance offering for consumers across the UK.

The new brand replaces eCar, which Brightside acquired in 2010. This is the first product to come under the Brightside brand.
Brightside Car follows the migration to CDL’s Strata platform, as announced in February 2015. This new platform will enable the business to deliver a clean and simple approach to insurance for our customers. The key aspects of this new platform for the business are a more stable platform, enhanced security, improved backend, superior functionality and a self-service portal that will significantly improve the customer experience. This includes:

  1.   Easier process for customers to retrieve quotes
  2.
  3.   Storage of payment details for ease in future
  4.
  5.   Customer details ‘pulled through’, saving time and frustration
  6.
  7.   User friendly self-service for renewals
  8.
  9.   Easier process to upload documents and receive instant confirmation of receipt
  10.
  11.   A one step cancelation process
Transparency is a key pillar of the new brand and ensuring customers understand the premiums on offer is a central part of the new service. The website is fully responsive across all platforms, ensuring customers receive excellent service no matter how they are accessing our product range, and Brightside Car has also introduced an 0333 phone number to ensure charges are kept to a minimum if customers prefer to call.

Commenting on today’s launch, Brightside Chief Executive Andrew Wallin said:
“Brightside Car represents a big step towards delivering a new range of products that best suit our customers. Over the last six-months we have instilled a new approach at Brightside where the customer is the first consideration in all business activity, and Brightside Car is one result of that approach. It offers a simple process for customers and will see a new approach to customer service, based on the new Strata platform, whilst ensuring the most competitive premiums.

“All too often car insurance is determined by necessity rather than choice. We want to change that and today marks an important step towards Brightside becoming the natural choice for every insurance customer in the UK.”
There will be a transition period from eCar to Brightside Car on aggregators and all existing eCar customers will be informed of these changes at the point of their policy renewal over the next 12-month period.
