General Insurance Article - Brit Insurance: Appointment of Chief Investment Officer


 Brit has announced (subject to FSA approval) the appointment of John Stratton to the newly created role of Chief Investment Officer (CIO). As CIO, John Stratton will report directly to the Group CEO, Mark Cloutier, and will oversee all of the group's investment and asset management activities.

 John Stratton joins Brit from Insurance Australia Group (IAG) where he has been since 2003, latterly as CIO and Head of Asset Management. Prior to joining IAG John held positions in asset management at AXA Australia and Merrill Lynch Mercury Asset Management. He began his career at National Australia Bank working in both Melbourne and London. John is a graduate of the University of Western Australia.

 Commenting on the appointment Mark Cloutier, Group CEO, said: “I very much look forward to welcoming John to the team. He brings with him an enormous amount of experience and expertise and will be a great addition to Brit as we build this business for the future.”
