Lifestyle Article - BW appoint industry expert to Longevity Consulting team

Barnett Waddingham appoints industry professional Craig Turnbull as a Partner in the Insurance & Longevity Consulting team.

Craig will lead the delivery of advisory services to life groups on the regulatory-driven aspects of their investment, risk and capital operations. He has over 20 years of experience working in the global insurance sector, most recently working in the Bank of England’s Prudential Regulation Authority as a Senior Technical Specialist in the Insurance Directorate.

He has extensive experience in the related fields of insurance investment strategy, economic and financial modelling, risk management and solvency capital assessment. His familiarity with the regulatory solvency framework for UK insurance firms (Solvency II / forthcoming Solvency UK reforms) and the treatment of investment strategies under its Matching Adjustment framework is also a key component of his appointment.

Scott Eason, Head of Insurance at BW, said: “I am delighted Craig is joining BW as a Partner in the Insurance & Longevity Consulting team. Craig’s knowledge of economic modelling and regulatory requirements will be invaluable to our client base. His expertise dovetails perfectly with and strengthens our existing BPA Advisory team, who already provide our clients with quality advice and support in pricing, modelling, investments and longevity.

“Craig also adds invaluable management experience into our partner group as we continue to expand on the back of the increased demand as more and more businesses recognise the quality of service they receive from BW.”

Craig Turnbull, Partner at BW, said: “BW has made big strides in the last few years and has a fantastic existing team and client base.

Joining as a Partner at this time is a great opportunity for me to have a real impact on the industry. I want to continue to apply my thought leadership for the good of the insurance sector and I believe BW is the best place for me to do this.”
