Pensions - Articles - Capita contracted by Fiat Group for Auto Enrolment

Capita Employee Benefits has announced it will begin a contract with Fiat Group to manage its auto-enrolment in the UK.

Around 1,800 employees across the various companies in the group will have the opportunity to join Fiat’s group personal pension (GPP) schemes. Staging dates for different companies within the group, including Ferrari North Europe and Maserati GB, will be staggered over the next two years.

Paul Morris of Fiat Group, said: “Capita has the necessary experience and technology, through its online benefits portal, Orbit, for us to feel confident that we’d be able to achieve our goals.”

Nick Burns, chief executive of Capita Employee Benefits, said: “The Fiat Group has business operations in a number of UK locations, which requires careful coordination between the various HR functions, payroll services and our Orbit portal. Our experience means we are well prepared for this challenge and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Fiat over the coming years.”

Capita Employee Benefits has been the administrators of the Fiat Group Pension Scheme since the 1970s and latterly administrators of the other schemes in the Fiat Group – which cover around 14,600 members. In addition to administration, Capita also provides actuarial, consultancy, treasury, accounting and pension payroll services to the various pension schemes in the Group.

The auto-enrolment will be managed from Capita’s offices in Surbiton and London.
