General Insurance Article - Deloitte to conduct strategic review of BIBA

Deloitte to conduct strategic review of British Insurance Brokers’ Association

Deloitte, the business advisory firm, has been appointed to conduct a strategic review of the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA).

BIBA is the UK’s leading general insurance organisation and represents the interests of brokers, intermediaries and their customers. The review follows the association’s merger with the Institute of Insurance Brokers and a full membership survey, and will enable BIBA to take a strategic view of what a modern trade body should look like.

Ian Clark, insurance partner at Deloitte, said:

“This is excellent news for the Deloitte insurance practice. It underlines the strength and expertise of our team, and our understanding of issues facing insurance intermediaries. Deloitte is uniquely well qualified to support BIBA having represented many brokers on regulatory issues and through working on many of the transactions in the broking sector.

“The insurance industry is going through a period of unprecedented change, yet the role of the broker in the value chain remains as critical as ever. The Deloitte review will ensure BIBA is well placed to help the industry meet these challenges.”
