Software - Durell launches new platform

Durell, a UK software provider for financial advisers and general insurance brokers, is launching a new platform that allows brokers to offer an aggregator-like system on their own websites.

The new system which starts at just £44+VAT per month is accessed by the broker's clients using any of the leading internet browsers (including Safari for iPads and iPhones) and allows them to link directly to their records in the broker's database.

It provides each client with their own secure web-page displaying their personal information, policies and renewals, with associated documentation (e.g. certificates and schedules).
Clients can directly edit their contact details and upload further documents, if required (e.g. photos relating to claims).

They can also use a messaging service that, unlike standard email, runs over an encrypted link.
The whole service is completely white-labelled and appears as part of the broker's website.
Multi-disciplinary companies may also display life, pension and investment contracts to provide a "one-stop-shop".

An integrated link to iprism allows many commercial products (e.g. Tradesman's cover or P.I.) and household insurance to be reviewed and managed directly by the client.

A £60+VAT per month optional extra service allows clients to use an aggregator-like quoting system for motor and home insurance (based on their selected panel of insurers and products), without the need to re-key any data at renewal.

Robert White, managing director, Durell Software, comments “No broker needs reminding about the impact of the aggregators. Regardless of justification, criticism of their offerings is unlikely to change consumer behaviour. So we're enabling brokers to offer similar technology through their own panel of quality-assured products, to provide internet-based ease of access while retaining the reassurance that the customer is still supported by a skilled and caring professional
