Lifestyle Article - Ecclesiastical announce Jeremy Trott as new Claims Director

Jeremy joins from Allianz where he has held a number of leadership roles over the last 14 years, most recently as Head of Claims Operations, where he was responsible for operational delivery of a 700-strong claims function across UK and India. Previous roles include Head of Strategic Innovation, as well as senior roles in sales and underwriting with both Allianz and Aviva. Jeremy brings a strong focus on continuously improving the customer experience, and putting the customer at the heart of claims delivery.

He will join Ecclesiastical in October, ensuring a smooth handover with David before his retirement later that month.

David’s career in insurance spans more than 30 years. He joined Ecclesiastical in September 2005 to head up the claims department and during his time in charge, the team has been recognised with numerous external awards. In 2018, David was recognised for his personal contribution to the profession, receiving the Insurance Post Achievement Award, voted for by his peers and sponsored by the CII.

David has worked to promote and advance the reputation of claims across the insurance profession, including sitting on the BIBA claims committee, ABI PL Committee and having a place on the Post magazine claims advisory board. He also chaired the CII Claims Faculty for a three-year period – Jeremy now holds the Non-Executive Director position at the Faculty’s successor organisation, the Society of Claims Professionals.

Richard Coleman, Ecclesiastical’s UKGI managing director, said: “Jeremy’s passion for innovation and technology and his proven track record and experience in claims make him ideally positioned to take on this pivotal role within the UKGI leadership team. Jeremy will be building upon the excellent foundations we have developed within the Claims function over the last few years. I’m really pleased that we have been able to bring in a leader worthy of our claims function, and the dedicated professionals we have in it.”

Commenting on David’s departure, he added: “David has played an active and valuable role in developing the industry’s approach to claims handling and his personal commitment to our business has been highly appreciated. I’d like to thank him for his tremendous contribution to Ecclesiastical and wish him well in his retirement.”

Jeremy said: “I’ve spent nearly 15 enjoyable years at Allianz and I’m delighted to be taking on this exciting new opportunity to head up claims at Ecclesiastical. It’s a financial services business with a unique purpose to contribute to the greater good of society, and I’m looking forward to working with the claims team to build on the exceptional customer service that Ecclesiastical is renowned for.”
