Life - Articles - EY appoints James Tufts as UK Life & Pensions leader

EY has appointed James Tufts as its UK Life & Pensions Lead Partner. He will take up the role on the 3rd May 2016. As well as his UK Life & Pensions Lead position, James will also fulfil senior roles on key audit pursuits and client account relationships working closely with Rodney Bonnard (UK insurance leader) and Shaun Crawford (Global Insurance Leader) as part of the senior insurance team of EY.

James originally worked for EY from 2001 to 2014 and is returning to the firm after a two year absence during which time he worked as Chief Risk Operator and an executive management member of a leading financial services firm. He played a key role in the day to day executive management of the organisation, leading its group risk & compliance function, its implementation of Solvency 2 and the strategic transaction process that resulted in the firm’s sale.

Rodney Bonnard, EYs head of insurance says; "We are delighted to see James return to EY. He is a highly experienced and very well regarded member of the insurance industry and he brings with him a wealth of experience and know how that will be of huge benefit both to the firm and to our clients. The whole team very much looks forward to working with him as we continue to build and consolidate EY’s market leading presence in the insurance sector.”

James Tufts adds; “EY’s Life and Pensions practice is quite rightly regarded throughout the industry as the market leader and I am thrilled to be returning to the team. This is a hugely challenging time for the UK insurance industry as it faces ongoing difficult economic conditions and a rapidly evolving regulatory framework. I am very much looking forward to working with EY and our clients to help steer them through these challenging times.”
