Investment - Articles - F&C strengthens institutional team with two new hires


 F&C today announced two new key hires, as the firm looks to deepen its capabilities and position the institutional business for future and continued growth. 

 F&C has appointed Nick Woodward as Structurer in the LDI team, enhancing F&C’s position as a leading provider of LDI solutions and Kristy Barr as Director, Sales & Client Relationships.

 Kristy was previously, Founding Partner and Head of Marketing & Investor Relations for Callanish Capital Partners LLP, where her responsibilities included the development and implementation of a global marketing strategy. Previous firms include Old Mutual Asset Managers and Goldman Sachs. At F&C, Kristy will work across the range of institutional clients, developing relationships to better understand client objectives and provide solutions to meet those objectives. Kristy will be reporting to Mandy Mannix, responsible for Client Service and Distribution at F&C Investments.

 Mandy Mannix, said: “Kristy has a long and successful track record in developing relationships and raising capital in traditional and alternative products, and we look forward to the contribution her experience will bring in building a deeper understanding of F&C as a leading provider of investment products and tailored solutions across our existing and potential client base in the institutional market.”

 Nick joins F&C from KPMG’s Investment advisory division, where he worked as Head of Modelling, and also acted as Head of LDI, developing KPMG’s proposition for clients. Previously Nick has worked at Mercer, Deutsche Bank and Paternoster. He has a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Warwick and is a qualified investment actuary.

 In his new role, Nick will work with F&C fund managers to analyse scheme liabilities and assets and design innovative liability hedge and derivative solutions for clients. Nick will also help to develop and maintain F&C’s LDI modelling capabilities in order to meet client requirements. He will report to Marius Penderis, Senior Structurer at F&C, and Alex Soulsby, Head of LDI team.

 Commenting on the appointment, Alex Soulsby said: “F&C is one of the leading providers of LDI solutions, and Nick’s comprehensive and expert understanding of the LDI market makes him a strong complement to our already experienced team. We look forward to the contribution Nick will bring to the team and in the role he will play in helping to ensure our clients continue to receive best-in-class service and LDI solutions.”
