Software - FE announces acquisition of InvestorEase

FE, the investment analysis and data provider, has acquired InvestorEase, the UK's most comprehensive, user friendly research resource for UK equities.

InvestorEase allows users to research UK shares, including those listed on AIM and Plus Markets. It provides information on directors' deals, M&A activity, the largest risers and fallers in main indices, and dates for forthcoming results and annual general meetings. Users can establish portfolios, build ‘StockWatch' lists and put their research into practice with online share dealing.

Matt Surfleet, Commercial Director at FE, explained: "This acquisition will broaden our coverage of UK equities and enhance our services for financial advisers and private investors seeking to invest in stocks directly. The breadth and depth of information available via InvestorEase will greatly enhance our FE Investegate news service, which hosts company news announcements. We recently launched an equities section within FE Trustnet and will continue to develop services to collate, filter and analyse information - thus assisting private investors to be better informed. We expect client demand for up to date information on stocks and shares to increase post RDR as private investors take more control over their portfolios."

Initially, both desktop and web based services provided to existing InvestorEase clients will not change, although in time the current InvestorEase web site will be integrated with FE Investegate and rebranded as FE Investegate Plus. FE and InvestorEase will work together on expanding the service to include European and worldwide equities.
