Lifestyle Article - Hiscox appoints new Chief Operating Officer for UK

Specialist global insurer Hiscox announces the appointment of Louise Marling to Chief Operating Officer for Hiscox UK.

Louise joined Hiscox UK in December 2019 as Interim Change Director, having previously held the role of Chief Operating Officer at global health insurance provider, William Russell. Prior to that, Louise worked for Aviva in both the UK and the US in various operational positions. Louise has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Warwick.

Since joining the business on an interim basis last year, Louise has supported a number of challenging change and IT projects and played an instrumental part in successfully shifting the UK business to remote-working in response to Covid-19.

In her new role, Louise will build on the customer-focused culture that is already a core part of the Hiscox DNA, and look for opportunities to improve the customer experience through streamlining and automating processes.

Louise will be based in Colchester and report to Bob Thaker, CEO of Hiscox UK.

Commenting on the appointment, Bob said, “It’s great to have Louise on board permanently – her operational expertise and wealth of industry experience make her an excellent addition to our senior team. Over the past few months Louise has successfully led us through some challenging and complex change projects, making invaluable contributions in a short time, so her expertise will be well placed as we continue to evolve the business for growth.”
