Hymans Robertson has announced the appointment of Emma McWilliam to its Enterprise Risk Management team. She joins from Milliman and will play a leading role developing risk and actuarial services for the life insurance market.
Emma will oversee the provision of a range of services that life insurers have greater demand for post changes to DC pensions announced in the 2014 budget. These relate to longevity de-risking, bulk annuities and Hymans Robertson’s DC pensions tool Guided Outcomes, which actively supports employees to save for retirement.

With 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry, Emma previously held senior leadership positions at Milliman and before that, Ernst & Young. She has significant experience in the longevity and annuity markets, working with life insurers, reinsurers, investment banks and institutional investors. She is a regular industry presenter and contributor to articles and is a published Editor of ‘Longevity Risk’, by Risk Books. She is active within industry, and is Chairman of the Investment and Life Assurance Group’s Financial Reporting Practitioner Group.
