Intrinsic select Barclays Wealth as preferred partner to offer broader investment proposition

Intrinsic to offer Barclays' deposit based structured investments from today
Wealthbuilder first product on offer - potential 5% annual return for 6 years
Barclays Wealth has announced today it is partnering with Intrinsic Financial Services to offer customers a broader structured investments proposition. Barclays Wealth will be its preferred supplier of structured investments and will work alongside Intrinsic to build its proposition within this space.

Barclays Wealth will work closely with Intrinsic to help shape its offering within the structured investments space. This sector is increasingly important for investors looking to diversify their portfolios and safeguard their investments from market fluctuation. Barclays Wealth's structured investments will be available through this partnership for the first time, with the Wealthbuilder fixed term deposit being the first product on offer. Intrinsic Financial Services is one of the UK's premier and fastest growing financial service businesses, providing access to a broad panel of companies and investment offerings, as well as a personal advisory service.

The Wealthbuilder is an alternative to a conventional deposit account and is aimed at investors who are seeking the security that capital will be repaid in full at maturity, irrespective of market performance, whilst still offering the potential of a more attractive return than a conventional deposit. A fixed return of 5% is ‘locked in' for each anniversary on which the FTSE 100 index is at or above the initial index level. The return is payable at the end of six years with the maximum return being 30%. However, if investors withdraw from the deposit before maturity, capital may be lost.

The Wealthbuilder is aimed primarily at investors who want the ability to protect their initial investment. Its annual observation points also help to mitigate the challenge of market timing and since the returns are locked in if the index is level or better, even modest performance can allow growth to be locked in.

Bryan Parkinson, Head of IFA Sales, Barclays Wealth, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with such a renowned market leading advisory firm. At Barclays Wealth we are constantly striving to offer intermediary clients new and innovative solutions which will complement their current product range and enable them to diversify their investment portfolios. Through our relationship with Intrinsic Financial Services we believe investors will have access to an increased number of financial solutions, including the newly launched Wealthbuilder, which will help them benefit from their investments."

Kevin Ronaldson, Group Marketing Director, Intrinsic Financial Services comments: "We are delighted to be working with Barclays Wealth to not only give us access to its broad range of structured investments but also to work with us on our strategy to develop our proposition and market these products going forward. Barclays Wealth are market leaders in this space, and we hope our clients will benefit from their extensive experience, enabling them to achieve their investment goals."
