Pensions - Articles - Jelf EB launch AEase Lite to support micro businesses

To complement its existing Auto Enrolment consultancy solution, AEase, Jelf Employee Benefits has today announced the launch of AEase Lite, an affordable service for employers with fewer than 30 employees. The new scheme launches ahead of the significant spike in companies that need to comply with their employer duties, with the Pensions Regulator estimating 1.8 million still needing to stage.

The new service draws on Jelf’s experience in enrolling hundreds of businesses since auto enrolment began but gives smaller employers streamlined technical support to set up a compliant pension scheme with the Government’s National Employment Savings Trust (NEST).

The scheme is suitable for employers who:
 • are happy to use NEST and do not want to investigate other pension provider options
 • wish to make the minimum statutory contributions
 • require ongoing telephone and online support and access to employee benefits seminars, blogs and other communications.

The existing AEase service will continue and offer a wider range of services for those employers who wish to consider wider options and support.

Jon Baker, head of financial services marketing, Jelf Employee Benefits said:
“Micro businesses know they need to comply with auto enrolment legislation but it is entirely unrealistic to expect many, if any, to go above the minimum requirements. In our experience, these types of organisations are not looking for bespoke consultancy, they simply want their hand held through the process to ensure that they get things right first time with the minimum of hassle and in the minimum amount of time.

“There has been much talk about a capacity crunch within the pensions industry but we’re only just about to find out what that really means. We’re only a short while away from a situation where literally thousands of pensions-naïve businesses need to comply with some pretty complicated legislation and are therefore quite likely to leave it until the eleventh hour to do anything about it. We can’t change human nature but we wanted to be ready with a simple, does-what-it-says-on-the-tin solution to help.”
