Legal & General’s Retirement business has appointed Dr. Russell Lee as a Director in Bulk Annuities and Longevity Insurance business.

Russell has a broad background in structured finance, investment consulting, capital optimisation, banking and quantitative modelling. Russell spent many years consulting in the FSG practice at Mercer, where he designed and implemented “non-cash” solutions for pension schemes, and was also head of insurance investment consulting.

Tom Ground, Head of Legal & General's Bulk Annuities & Longevity Insurance business said: “Russell joins the team at an exciting time as we are expecting to see further growth in the Bulk Annuity and Longevity de-risking market over the rest of this year and into 2016. The expansion of the team means that we are even better placed to provide expertise and support to companies and trustees and help them secure the most appropriate de-risking arrangement for their scheme and members.

Russell’s significant financial experience and expertise in executing bespoke transactions for clients will be a great addition to the team. The appointment further demonstrates Legal & General's commitment to grow its Bulk Annuity and Longevity Insurance business."
