Legal & General have launched a new and exclusive administration system to serve the Group Protection market.

A multi million pound system has been specifically designed and built by Legal & General with market leading technology from Mastek, the creators of the software.Elixir, for Group Protection, is an end to end platform designed with the customer at the forefront and heart of the process and provides a fully automated system allowing faster processing, greater efficiencies and speed.

The development of this platform represents a significant capital investment and a clear demonstration of Legal & General's commitment to this market as one of the UK's market leader for Group Protection. Extensive testing over the last twelve months has ensured that Elixir, for Group Protection is robust and able to consistently deliver the highest levels of customer service.A number of intermediaries are already reaping the benefits of the system since it launched in December 2010. Alex McKilligan of AON Consulting, Belfast, said " The first page precisely displays the quoted basis, this makes it a lot easier for us to check. The quotation is self explanatory, well structured and gives a much better layout. The basis of each benefit category is shown in detail. Assumptions are highlighted with bullet points and requirements for guaranteeing the quotation are clearly noted. A great improvement."

Diane Buckley, Managing Director for Legal & General Group Protection said, "The launch of Elixir, for Group Protection opens up new channels for growth and diversification for us. Our commitment to this market is absolute. We're experts in this market and we've used our expertise to design and build a system that will not only improve and enhance the service we give our customers today, but also give us the ability to respond quickly to the changes, challenges and opportunities that we will encounter in the months and years ahead. I'm thrilled at what we've achieved and very excited about what we'll now be able to achieve in the future."

Richard Barnes, Account Director, Mastek said "We're delighted that we've been able to use our technology to help Legal & General position themselves at the forefront of the Group Protection market in the UK. We look forward to seeing Legal & General reap the benefits of their competitive advantage in the years ahead."
