Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) has appointed Marion Stommel to the position of Head of Credit reporting to Roger Bartley, Head of Fixed Income.
Marion joins LGIM from WestLB Mellon Asset Management (WMAM) where she was responsible for the management of their credit team and the development of international business. Marion joined WMAM in 1998 and has since held a variety of roles within the firm including Head of Corporate Credit and Structured Finance. Prior to WMAM, she was at West LB AG and HypoVereinsbank (HVB) respectively.

Marion will be responsible for leading LGIM's London-based investment grade credit capability. Her role will focus on managing and developing talent, enhancing our investment processes, and working closely with LGIM's distribution team to strengthen the delivery of LGIM's fixed income proposition as we look to grow our business internationally.

Roger Bartley, Head of Fixed Income, said "Marion has over 20 years of industry experience and has a strong track record of developing teams. She has both the fixed income investment experience and the broader business experience required to successfully lead and develop our investment grade credit capabilities. LGIM has delivered strong returns, consistently above benchmark across a range of its active fixed income funds over the last five years. I am confident that Marion's extensive European market experience will help us continue to meet our clients' investment needs, particularly as we grow our business internationally."

Marion Stommel said "I am delighted to join LGIM at this exciting time. I look forward to working as part of LGIM's active fixed income team and to helping shape and grow the business"
