General Insurance Article - LV= renews Harlequins sponsorship deal

Harlequins are delighted to announce that LV=, the mutual insurance, retirement and investments group, has extended its sponsorship as official sponsor of Harlequins Rugby Club.

The deal is testament to the strength of the relationships the club enjoys with its sponsors, with this announcement being the latest in a series of renewed sponsorships by the club, including the main sponsorship with Etihad Airways which was announced last month. LV=’s continued sponsorship demonstrates its commitment to rugby, with the LV= Cup also playing an important role in its sports sponsorship portfolio. The addition of the Harlequins’ ‘LV= Big Game 3’ at Twickenham Stadium last December showed how LV= is continually looking for ways to be creative with its sponsorship by offering fresh ideas and unique ways of engaging with the club, the supporters and its customers.

As part of the extended agreement, LV= will continue to receive significant branding rights on the Harlequins playing kit and the West Stand of the Twickenham Stoop Stadium will remain as the ‘LV= Stand’. The Harlequins cheerleaders, who perform at all Harlequins home matches, will continue to be known as the ‘LV= Love Girls’ and LV= will be continuing its sponsorship of the Harlequins Big Game 4, taking place at Twickenham Stadium in December.

David Smith, LV= sponsorship director said: “The Harlequins are a terrific team and we have thoroughly enjoyed working with them over the past few years. Not only are they great entertainment on the pitch but they also give back to the sport by investing in new talent at their academy. We are very much looking forward to working with them over the next year and wish them the best of luck for the season.”

Commenting on the deal Interim Harlequins Chief Executive David Morgan said: “It’s fantastic news that LV= have chosen to continue their sponsorship of Harlequins. They have been a loyal and committed sponsor over the past three seasons and both Quins and LV= have benefited hugely from the partnership thus far. Everybody at the Club is looking forward to continuing working with them over the next season. I’m confident we will be sharing some very exciting times together.”

EXP Sport who manage Harlequins sponsorship and brokered the renewal with LV= added: “We’re delighted that LV= have committed to the club for another season. The relationship with LV= has grown over the last 3 years and we’ve enjoyed assisting them with their sponsorship activation. They are great people and great fun to work with and are a brand that really live out their brand values. The LV= Big Game 3 was what Harlequins is all about – excitement, entertainment, family and first class rugby. The Big Game 4 will look to emulate the success of previous years and build on the positive messages for both brands. The continuation of the official sponsorship gives LV= a presence in rugby throughout the season and the LV= Love Girls are a fun way of bringing their brand to life on a match day.”
