General Insurance Article - Memorial service for Xchanging’s Marcus Ringrose

Xchanging has organised a memorial service for Marcus Ringrose who recently passed away. The service to celebrate his life will take place on Thursday 27th September at 4.30pm in the 1688 room of the Lloyd’s building. All are welcome.

Marcus had varied roles in the insurance industry during his career, including positions with R W Sturge Syndicate 210, Syndicate 235 and Syndicate 602. In 1993 he joined Liberty Mutual Insurance Company (UK) Ltd as Head of their Financial and Political Risk division, before spending the last ten years with Xchanging, where he headed up the Political Risk Claims section until his death.

Steve Guarnori, Technical Claims Director at Xchanging comments on Marcus’ life: “Marcus was a wonderful colleague, extremely professional, diligent and immensely knowledgeable. Marcus was a gentleman, a popular figure at Xchanging and had a unique sense of humour. He will be greatly missed by all of us at Xchanging as well as by his many friends in the market. Many will have fond memories of their time working with Marcus. For me it was how his James Bond theme ringtone would so often start ringing five minutes after the start of a meeting.”

Mr Guarnori concludes: “We wanted to arrange this memorial service to celebrate the life and work of a friend who was a well-known and well-liked figure in the insurance world.”

In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation to one of Marcus’ preferred charities would be greatly appreciated (Macmillan Cancer Support: http://www.justgiving.com/Marcus-Ringrose or Greenpeace: http://www.justgiving.com/MarcusRingrose-Greenpeace).
