Investment - Articles - Mercer reinforces its investment business with new Partner


 Mercer has appointed John Benfield as a Partner in its investment business. Based in London, Mr Benfield will be responsible for advising clients on all aspects of investment strategy including risk budgeting, dynamic investment strategy and manager selection. As a member of the Mercer rates committee and the liability hedging policy group he will take a lead role on liability management. He will also contribute to the business as a member of the dynamic asset allocation team.
 
 Mr Benfield has over 25 years of consulting and banking experience. He joins from Aon Hewitt where he was a senior investment consultant advising on a range of investment issues, including liability driven investment (LDI). Prior to 2007, Mr Benfield was employed in the banking industry, working for Gulf International Bank UK from 1992. Here, he honed his investment knowledge and gained extensive trading experience covering derivatives and Government bond markets.
