Travelling Article - Meribel For all Seasons

Meribel is quite simply my new favourite place. The skiing is terrific, the après awesome, there's just one small problem and that is, end of season blues and the big melt. Try as I might to find a small patch of piste I have to accept that the fun is over for now, or is it? Out of season Meribel is perhaps one of the best activity holiday destinations.

The wonderful restaurants and fabulous fromagerie are still there, the knock-out cocktails at Le Pub, Dick's Bar, Barometer or Ronnie's are still served, the clear mountain skies are still brilliant blue and the sun just gets hotter.

The three valleys play host to a number of alpine activities in the summer months. These include hiking, Glacier hiking, mountain biking, pony trekking, white water rafting and, not for the faint hearted, paragliding. The Altiport offers a number of flight tours from a short tour of The Three Valleys to an hour long trip across to see Mount Blanc. This is quite an adventure, especially if you have never experienced flying in anything except a commercial aircraft.

A summer visit to Meribel is also a great time to experience one of the stunning chalets at a fraction of the high season cost. Meribel is the to go to destination for Hollywood and royalty alike, there's every chance you could bump into a well known Harry Potter actress or even the future Queen of England. Avery Crest run two exclusive chalets ideal for those seeking absolute luxury and privacy. High season both chalets come with full staff, Miller Harris cosmetics, daily fine dining including champagne and canapés ahead of a four course dinner, shuttle bus service and pretty much anything further that you might require. Annie and her team are world class hosts and provide an exceptional holiday experience. Low season the chalets can be booked on a self catering basis where you are still able to enjoy the fantastic facilities and experience this stunning location.

 Chalet Trois Ours

Located on Route Des Chalets in high season you are able to ski to the door. The chalet has four floors and five exquisite ensuite double bedrooms which can be changed to twin rooms on request. There is a large sun deck balcony, hot tub, steam room, onsite fully equipped gym, large open plan living room with log fire, HD cinema room with surround sound and extensive Blu Ray library. Chalet Trois Ours is an 'A" list residence.

 Chalet Vallon

Located a few moments walk from Meribel village where there is a fantastic boulangerie, bar, shop and ski lift. The essentials basically! This chalet has three floors with four luxury ensuite rooms and a small single room. There is an open plan living room with log fire and balcony over looking the village, well equipped TV room and steam room. Beauty treatments and massages can be arranged at the chalet on request.
