Software - Morningstar UK to supply fund data to O&M Systems

Morningstar UK, a subsidiary of independent investment research firm Morningstar, Inc, is now providing fund data to O&M Systems, a software and services provider to the financial services industry.

Morningstar UK now supplies O&M Systems with UK pension fund data that is integrated into the company's Pensions Profiler, a tool that supports independent financial advisers with their pension fund research.

Morningstar will also provide whole-of-market data, including UK and offshore unit trusts, OEICs, life and pension funds, ETFs, investment trusts, and equities, to populate O&M's new investments profiler tool. The new tool, expected to be available in the second quarter of 2012, will also provide access to Morningstar's fund analyst research in the UK.

"Delivering Morningstar data to O&M is a great testament to our data collection and analysis teams in the UK and worldwide," said Geoff Balzano, chief executive officer of Morningstar UK.

"Data quality is really at the heart of Morningstar's business, and we are pleased to have this opportunity to support O&M's work with advisers."

"With more than 6,000 advisers using our existing Pensions Profiler software, it is a significant exercise to change data supplier," said Graham Miller, director for O&M Systems. "O&M undertook an extensive due diligence exercise and Morningstar emerged as our preferred supplier. Morningstar's breadth and quality of data impressed us and we look forward to working with the Morningstar team."

Morningstar provides one of the largest and most comprehensive fund databases in the industry, with data on approximately 375,000 investment offerings.
