In this new role, she will be responsible for leading the company’s capital modelling, capital strategy, and investment portfolio management initiatives, supporting the organisation’s long-term growth objectives and financial resilience. Emma will be based in London and report to Chief Finance Officer, Jessie Burrows.
With more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Emma has a strong background in oversight of capital management, financial strategy, and investments in addition to financial risk management and reserving. She brings experience and expertise across a wide range of general insurance markets.
Emma joins MS Amlin from Direct Line Group where she spent over a decade, most recently serving as Director of Insurance and Financial Risk. In this role, she was responsible for leading financial and insurance risk oversight across the Group, ensuring a robust second line of defence. Prior to this, she was Head of Insurance Risk at the company.
Before joining Direct Line Group, Emma was the Global Corporate and Discontinued Business Actuarial Business Partner at Zurich, leading the reserving teams for the Global Corporate and Discontinued businesses, as well as supporting regulatory compliance.
Emma started her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), as a consultant in the Non-Life Actuarial Department. She led the reserving, audit, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) assignments for a range of clients and provided actuarial guidance for Schemes of Arrangement and Part VII transfers.
