Pensions - Articles - NEST restrictions - Aviva says put the customer first

The DWP consultation on Nest restrictions closes on Monday 28 January.

Aviva is responding to this consultation by calling on the government to lift the restrictions on the NEST contribution cap and transfers in to NEST. These restrictions add unnecessary complexity to employers' decision making. If employers want to choose NEST as their pension provider then they should be free to do so without having to worry about artificial limits on contributions and barriers to transfer. If these restrictions are lifted it should of course mean that transfers will be allowed out of as well as in to Nest.

Aviva Head of Policy, Corporate Benefits, John Lawson said: "Pensions and automatic enrolment are complicated enough without adding in further barriers. People shun pensions because of this complexity and we should grasp every opportunity to make pensions as easy and customer-friendly as we can."
