Pensions - Articles - New appointments at the NAPF

The National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) has appointed Jackie Wells as Head of Policy and Research and Alison Binks as Head of Business Development.

Commenting on Jackie Wells' appointment, Graham Vidler, Director of External Affairs, NAPF, said: “Jackie’s knowledge and expertise will be an enormous asset to the NAPF and help ensure that our members' views and the interests of scheme members are effectively represented. I'm delighted to welcome her to the team."

Jackie Wells added: “There are very few jobs attractive enough to persuade me to relinquish my role as an independent consultant but working with the NAPF at such a pivotal time for schemes and members is one of them. I am excited to be joining an organisation that is supportive of workplace pensions and look forward to helping members respond to recent policy changes in a way that ensures their continued success in delivering good outcomes to scheme members.”

Prior to joining the NAPF Jackie has led a diverse range of consultancy projects for the FSA/FCA, Government departments and other not-for-profit organisations as well financial services firms. Her experience of working on pension policy issues is extensive, including having led consultancy teams working with DWP on the Pensions Commission reforms as well as with providers and schemes on the impact of auto-enrolment. Jackie will be responsible for leading the NAPF’s policy and research activity.

Commenting on Alison Binks’ appointment, Julian Mund, Commercial Services Director, said: “The introduction of a business development team will help us build even closer relationships with our members. I am delighted that Alison has joined us and am looking forward to working closely with her to improve further our commercial services.”

Alison Binks, added: “This role provides a great opportunity to establish an internal business development team that can help the NAPF grow its commercial activities. I’m very much looking forward to building on the excellent relationships the NAPF already has in place with suppliers, sponsors and exhibitors to make sure we continue to deliver relevant and successful services for our scheme and business members.”

Alison joins from the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) where she developed and led the highly successful business development team. Prior to working at CIPFA Alison spent seven years in management consultancy with RSM Bentley Jennison.
