Life - Articles - New personal finance book and iPhone app

  •   Launch of My Money Tip - personal finance information in tweet sized chunks
  •
  •   Personal Finance book will make IFAs more visible, more attractive and more relevant to younger consumers who need access to their expertise

IFA Life, the social networking site for IFAs and financial planners is launching an iPhone App and book which is designed to raise the profile of financial advisers to a younger market and Internet savvy older consumers.

With the Internet and Social Media increasingly at the heart of how consumers find information on financial matters, IFAs can either embrace it or run the risk that they will be invisible to the Internet generation.

Founder of IFA Life Philip Calvert said today:

"As we approach RDR, there's a great deal of talk about how the mass market can be served by IFAs - but in a cost-effective, appealing and relevant way. Our new My Money Tip initiative will raise the profile of IFAs to a younger market - and indeed to older consumers who love the Internet."

IFA Life is asking IFAs to tweet short, generic tips about personal finance and how to manage money to the My Money Tip Twitter page at http://twitter.com/MyMoneyTip. The best 1,001 tips will be featured in the book, an iPhone App* and special Facebook pages. The book will be available in paperback, as an eBook and on the Kindle.

 Philip Calvert continued:

"The Twitter format of just 140 characters is ideal. It's simple, easy to understand and attractive to the Internet generation. The book will not profess to be providing in-depth financial planning - it's intended to be fun, high value and in an easily digestible format that the Internet generation loves and understands."

And for those IFAs who are not yet using Twitter, they can post their money tips on LinkedIn or by email.

 Philip Calvert concluded:

"We'd like every IFA and financial planner in the UK to get behind My Money Tip. It's an exciting way to highlight the depth of expertise that IFAs have, whilst making themselves visible, valuable, accessible and attractive to the wider market. Our goal is for the book to become a best seller in Personal Finance."

IFA Life is giving contributing IFAs the opportunity to have their tips highlighted in the book - again further raising their profile.
