Scott Anderson to join Newton Investment Management

Newton Investment Management Limited, part of BNY Mellon Asset Management, has strengthened its UK business development team with the appointment of Scott Anderson.

Anderson joins from Institutional Investor Institute where, as Executive Director, he was responsible for the membership based pension fund forums in the UK and Continental Europe. He transformed the Institute's member base since arriving in 2007, growing it three-fold and developing close business relationships with senior executives at the leading UK and European pension funds. He was previously at MSM International where he was publisher for Global Pensions, having begun his career as an editor at the Lafferty Group.

Anderson will lead Newton's direct institutional sales efforts and join the firm's consultant relations team in managing its advisory relationships.

Commenting on the appointment, John Burke, Head of UK Institutional Business Development at Newton, said: "Scott brings a great deal of expertise to our team, with a deep knowledge of pension funds and the issues they face in the current environment. Newton's position in the UK marketplace and our solutions-based approach to managing clients' assets, were key in his decision to join our company.
