Pensions - Articles - Partnership comments on de-risking good practice guide

Andy Morley, Head of Enhanced Bulk Annuity Sales, Partnership, comments on the announcement that a panel of industry experts – chaired by Margaret Snowdon – has been convened to develop an industry Good Practice Guide for medically underwritten de-risking exercises:

“There is huge potential in the market for schemes to benefit from individual member underwriting when it comes to de-risking their defined benefit liabilities. However, this is a relatively young sector and more needs to be done to engage, inform and educate decision makers as to the advantages these types of deals can offer.

“This initiative is therefore a great step forward which will help the sector grow to its full potential by enhancing existing best practice and providing greater clarity and certainty as the market continues to expand. We look forward to working closely with Margaret Snowdon as well as the other members of the panel to develop a robust Good Practice Guide.”
