We have had a look at, and eaten at, its a tough job I know but someone has to do it, a massive amount of restaurants and we have a a few suggestions that we feel may well be worth a visit to.
One of our favourite twists on a traditional theme is the Full English Breakfast at Pollen Street Social.
Dont think for a minute you are going to get anything remotely traditional though this is art as food. Jason Atherton haute cuisine variation cannot be described but as they say this picture paints a thousand words. Delicious
Or if traditional is the type of thing youre after, obviously at Actuarial Post we like them with a slight twist, then try the Frenchie Burger at the Mandarin Hotels Bar Boulud. It's actually a mini-burger so order the side of wonderful french fries as well but the burger is a mini bite of heaven, to be honest, ingredients such as morbier cheese, pork belly, dijon infused tomato compote and a beautiful sirloin patty make up a masterpeice. Top drawer.
You can also try amazing Fish and Chips at Poppies or Pie and Mash at the Square Pie Company
We quite like the way the Mandarin produced our burger earlier today and for dinner try Dinner by Heston Blumenthal. It's not actually by the man himself but rather under the auspices of Ashley Palmer-Watts the executive head chef of the Fat Duck group, nonetheless it is still great food but not outlandish, not a whiff of dry ice to be seen, cucumber ketchup notwithstanding. Excellent and not overly pricey.
Bob Bob Ricard. Glamorous Art Deco all-booth dining room showcases some really quite delicious meals. Our recommendation is their Beef Wellington for two, not the soggy excuse some restaurants serve up, also try the Rhubarb Gin & Tonic
Alternatively, lets head for slightly more eclectic shores with a visit to Kopapa based in Covent Garden will find you knee deep in some, quite frankly, extraordinary plates of food. For example Fried Tofu envelopes filled with piquant spiced dahl before deep frying in tempura batter teamed up with deep fried plaintain. Tasted great though
Dinings for the best in contemporary Japanese cooking, wagyu beef, wow or try the fabulous mini tacos stuffed with crabmeat, scallop, salmon and tuna. Awesome Georgian townhouse and the food is equally awe inspiring.
