Pensions - Articles - PLSA launches online pensions training sessions

The PLSA will launch its first online training session today. This is the first step towards offering a wider range of education and training activities online, making them more accessible to both members and non-members.

The first session to be offered is Pensions Basics, which is ideal for anyone just starting in the pensions world; or those who want to develop their knowledge of pensions, such as human resources and payroll professionals as well as trustees.
The session is interactive, allowing people to ask questions in real-time, and split into two parts, which can be taken on separate days in order to make it easier for people to fit the training around their day to day responsibilities. For larger groups, it is also possible to request a bespoke session on a date to suit their organisation.

Frances Corbett, Head of the PLSA Academy and PINNACLE, said: “Following feedback from our members, we fully understand the time pressures that they are under and the fact that while they are interested in training, it is often difficult to take a full day out of the office to attend training. Therefore to help our regional members, and those with tight schedules, we are starting to move some of our training modules online. Pension Basics is aimed at helping people develop an appreciation of the basics.”
