Pensions - Articles - PwC boosts pensions risk consulting practice

PwC continues to expand its pensions risk team with the appointment of Ben Stone.

Ben joins PwC from Towers Watson and has many years’ experience advising pension schemes on risk and cost management. This includes working with organisations such as Merchant Navy Officers Pension Fund (MNOPF) and ITV.

Ben’s appointment signals further growth for PwC’s pensions team which has made over 15 new hires in 2013.

Ben Stone, senior manager in PwC’s pensions team, said:

“It is great to join such a respected, active and growing team. 2013 has already been a record year for risk transactions and the demand shows no signs of slowing, with PwC’s team currently working on a number of significant transactions on course to complete by the end of the year.

“PwC’s expertise combined with its Skyval platform means the team is an unrivalled position to help clients get the most value from any risk transaction and at the right price.”

Raj Mody, head of pensions at PwC, said:

“The high demand from businesses and trustees for smarter ways to remove risk from their pension schemes is set to continue well into 2014. Ben’s experience reinforces our market-leading position as our team continues to grow strongly. Skyval’s ability to track the health of a pension scheme on a real-time basis will allow more pension funds to take advantage of opportunities to de-risk.”
