Articles - PwC recruits chair for actuarial services network

PwC has recruited Richard Batty to chair its actuarial services network. In his new role, Batty will work with Bryan Joseph, PwC’s global actuarial leader, to develop PwC’s global actuarial consulting practice. He will be based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Richard joins PwC after over 26 years at Towers Watson, where he was most recently the managing consultant of Towers Watson Germany. Prior to the merger with Watson Wyatt, Richard was the managing director of Towers Perrin’s international Risk Consulting and Software practice (formerly Tillinghast). After founding Tillinghast’s continental European operations in 1985, he held various roles at Towers Perrin and also served on Towers Perrin’s board of directors.

David Law, global insurance leader at PwC, said
“Richard is a great addition to our global insurance team and brings with him a wealth of expertise. The growth of our actuarial practice is a strategic priority to assist our clients with the continuing changes in the risk and capital environment.”

Batty added “Given the pace and volume of change in the industry, including the convergence of international regulation, companies are looking for global solutions more than ever before. I will work on enhancing our presence in actuarial consulting worldwide and offering our clients truly global, integrated and multi-disciplinary solutions.”
