Kingston has over 20 years’ experience of the UK pensions and investment industry and holds professional trustee roles at Capital Cranfield Trustees and Scottish Pension Trustees. She has chaired a number of trustee boards and has worked with schemes ranging from £3m right up to £6bn.
Candia is the second independent member out of a team of five pension and investment experts on the IAC. She is supported by the independent member Jon Beckett and leaders from the Royal London Group and Royal London Asset Management (RLAM).
The IAC’s role is to meet on a regular basis to review Royal London’s risk-graded Governed Portfolios, Governed Retirement Income Portfolios and funds against customer objectives and expectations. Critically, it operates independently of RLAM who have day to day running of the internal funds.
Commenting on her appointment Candia said: “I am looking forward to my new role on the IAC and continuing the great work of those who have gone before me. Areas such as ESG will dramatically change how people invest over the coming years and as a mutual we are mindful of this in ensuring the needs of our members continue to be at the heart of what we do.”
Lorna Blyth, head of investment solutions at Royal London commented: “Candia has strong experience and expertise across pension and investment governance and we look forward to working with her.”
