Articles - Royal London Group announces new Board appointments


 The Royal London Group has announced the appointment of Jane Platt, Kathryn Matthews, and David Weymouth to its Board as Non-Executive Directors.

 Jane Platt is currently Chief Executive and Director of Savings for National Savings & Investments. Prior to this she was Chief Operating Officer, Customer Segments at the Reuters Group and Chairman and Chief Executive of Barclays Stockbrokers. She also held positions at Mercury Asset Management, Chemical Bank International and Phillips and Drew. She has previously held Non-Executive positions at Witan Investment Trust and the Edinburgh UK Tracker Trust. At the Royal London Group Jane will sit on the Audit, Board Risk and Nomination Committees.

 Kathryn Matthews was previously Chief Investment Officer, Asia Pacific (excluding Japan) for Fidelity International. Prior to this she held positions at Wiliam M Mercer, Axa Investment Managers, Santander Global Advisors and Baring Asset Management. She is also a Non-Executive Director of APERAM SA, Conversus Capital, Montanaro UK Smaller Companies Investment Trust, Rathbone Brothers and Hermes Fund Managers. In addition, Kathryn has also previously held Non-Executive roles at Religare Enterprises and Fidelity Asian Values plc. At the Royal London Group Kathryn will chair the Investment Committee and sit on the Nomination and Remuneration Committees.

 David Weymouth is currently Group Operations and Risk Director of RSA Insurance Group. Prior to this he held positions at Deloitte Consulting and Barclays where he enjoyed a successful 28 year career. He is a Non- Executive Director of the Financial Services Authority's Financial Compensation Scheme. He has previously held a number of Non- Executive roles at the Department of Trade and Industry (Operating Committee), Chordiant Software, the Charities Aid Foundation and ISBAN. At the Royal London Group David will sit on the Board Risk, Investment and Nomination Committees.

 All the appointments have been approved by the Financial Services Authority and are effective immediately.
