Investment - Articles - Scottish Life enhances investment fund range

Scottish Life, the pensions specialist business of the Royal London Group, has added six new funds to its core investment fund range.

The six new funds include four external funds, three of which are rated by Morningstar/OBSR, and two new funds from sister company Royal London Asset Management. The funds have been chosen from the Emerging Market Equity, Global Equity, Government & Corporate Bond and Specialist sectors and complement the present options available to customers.

 The new funds are:

 ♦ Blackrock Emerging Market Tracker
 ♦ M&G Global Dividend
 ♦ Sarisan Agrisar
♦ Standard Life Global Absolute Return Strategies
 ♦ SL Global High Yield
♦ SL Short Duration Global High Yield

Scottish Life now offers 164 carefully selected funds from 29 fund managers, for advisers to use in building high quality portfolios for their clients. Scottish Life's approach reduces the time advisers have to spend on fund selection, while still offering a wide investment choice so that advisers can add value for their clients. To make the review process easier, Scottish Life monitors the funds on an ongoing basis to ensure their quality is maintained.

Lorna Blyth, Investment Marketing Manager at Scottish Life, said:

"Through a mixture of adviser feedback and market analysis, we have identified top quality funds for which there is a significant level of demand. We select funds which either increase our coverage into new sectors or which have a strong track record of meeting objectives and delivering competitive returns to provide real value for advisers and their clients.

"At Scottish Life, we understand the most important thing for advisers is getting the asset allocation of a client's portfolio spot on. But selecting appropriate funds is still a key part of the investment process, which is why we regularly review our fund range to ensure we offer something to suit different risk appetites in all market conditions.

"We focus on building a strong fund range, and keeping it at its best."
