General Insurance Article - Scottish Life launch Fantasy Rugby for Financial Advisors

Scottish Life, the pensions specialist arm of the Royal London Group, has launched a fantasy rugby game for financial advisers, based on the 2011 Rugby World Cup (RWC).
The game will run from the 9 September to 23 October, with team entries being accepted now.

The game is only available to UK financial advisers over the age of eighteen and is part of an ongoing campaign to promote Scottish Life's award-winning Governed Range as a possible alternative to platforms.
Advisers can register their team now at rugbygame.scottishlife.co.uk/
Once registered, advisers will receive a Fantasy Budget to create their own 'Fantasy Rugby Team' of players from the RWC team squads. Each Fantasy Team will receive Fantasy Points for the real life performance of their selected players.

Former British Lions' captain Gavin Hastings will provide a weekly blog, which will be linked to the Fantasy Rugby World Cup Game and will feature on the Scottish Life website. Gavin will also give his top five RWC game predictions of the week to help advisers select the best transfers into their Fantasy Team.
At the end of the tournament the three highest scoring managers will each win a prize:

  •   1st prize - trip for 2 to Paris with 3 nights stay in a 4 star central Paris hotel plus £500 spending money
  •
  •   2nd prize - top-of-the-range 40" HD flatscreen TV
  •
  •   3rd prize - iPad2, the latest 'must-have' tablet computer
There will also be weekly prizes awarded to the highest scoring manager every week that the game is live.
Lorna Blyth, Investment Marketing Manager at Scottish Life, commented:
"We're really looking forward to the 2011 Rugby World Cup. And what better way to add to the excitement than picking your own fantasy squad from the teams that will be represented at this wonderful festival of rugby. This is the chance to live your ultimate rugby fantasy - an opportunity to coach an international rugby side.
"How else could you take charge of a team featuring the likes of Chris Ashton, Max Evans and Dan Carter? Not only can you shape the team of your dreams, but you can also win some fantastic prizes in the process, and gain expert insight from rugby legend Gavin Hastings.
"We hope that advisers will get really involved in the Fantasy Rugby World Cup Game. And while fun is definitely the name of the game, with the prizes on offer we expect a little bit of competitive edge among work colleagues and friends playing the game."
