General Insurance Article - Senior Arista appointments strengthen northern focus


 Commercial lines underwriting specialist, Arista Insurance has appointed Jim Morrison as Regional Manager for the North and Steve Davidson as senior underwriter. Both Jim and Steve are based in Arista’s Manchester office.

 Jim, who is FCII qualified and has more than 30 years’ insurance industry experience, will be responsible for further developing Arista’s operations in the North. His previous roles include working for Eagle Star, NU and NIG in senior underwriting and managerial positions.

 Steve, who is ACII qualified will be underwriting property, liability and motor trade risks, with a particular focus on the developing new business. Steve’s substantial knowledge and experience will be pivotal in supporting existing broker relationships, as well as introducing new opportunities. Before joining Arista, he enjoyed a successful career as a senior trading underwriter with Aviva in the North West spanning 33 years.

 Further strengthening Arista’s growing commercial motor fleet business in Manchester, Karen Fendall has been promoted to the position of Fleet Underwriter. Karen’s promotion recognises her development since she joined Arista two years ago.

 Commenting on the changes, Arista Deputy Chief Executive, Lyn Carslake, said: “These three appointments are further evidence of Arista’s recruitment and development of high calibre insurance professionals who can provide technical knowledge and local expertise for our brokers. During 2012, Arista aims to recruit further skilful and experienced professionals to join our regional teams, ensuring our profitable growth continues through providing our brokers a high quality service from local experts.”

 Arista currently services around 360 brokers from its network of offices in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, Redhill, Southampton and St Albans.
