Lifestyle Article - Simon Kew appointed Broadstones Head of Market Engagement

Simon will support Broadstone’s Consulting & Actuarial division together with the Group’s latest acquisition OAC. Role aims to increase the Group’s voice through go-to-market channels at a time of significant growth

Broadstone is delighted to announce Simon Kew as its new Head of Market Engagement.

Simon will be responsible for raising Broadstone’s profile and share of voice across its Consulting & Actuarial division together with OAC – a UK based specialist actuarial and financial services consultancy acquired by Broadstone last month.

Simon’s role will be dedicated to increasing Broadstone’s market engagement through its core audiences across new and existing clients, at conferences and speaking events and other external communications channels like social media.

He will also take on a mentoring role within the business leveraging his prominence as a leading commentator on pension regulation, as well as his insights across the industry and the legislative direction of travel from government.

After starting his career in banking and retail finance, Simon went on to pursue managerial positions in the pensions advisory sector, working at The Pensions Regulator (TPR) for three years in scheme funding, policy and, lastly, as their lead on all government relations. He then moved to Deloitte, leading on strategy and relationships, a role he continued at Teneo. Simon is also active within the Pensions Management Institute (PMI), as a member of their Development Committee.

Broadstone is a trusted adviser to over 400 trustee boards, including their pension schemes and sponsors, and a growing number of charities and private clients. For the second year in a row, it was voted the best Third-Party Pensions Administrator in 2023 by its clients with scheme membership ranging from five to as many as 15,000.

Simon Kew, Head of Market Engagement at Broadstone, commented: “Broadstone is an ambitious business and I am excited to join at a time of significant growth to help continue its forward momentum.

“It has been a turbulent year for the pensions industry and clients are looking for high-quality, independent advice to help them through choppy waters. I hope my experience can help Broadstone amplify its voice in the market to bring its award-winning services to more pension schemes and other industry participants.”

Nigel Jones, Head of Consulting & Actuarial at Broadstone, said: “Simon has a prominence across the sector that will be invaluable as we grow our market profile.

“His insight will support our continued growth whether that is in a client-facing role, debating at industry events or across other external communications. He will also provide key support to our exciting new acquisition OAC which, combined with our latest Administration Award, is testament to the continued and future expansion of Broadstone.”
