Pensions - Articles - SOLLA includes Just Retirement as a new marketing partner

SOLLA Enterprises Limited is delighted to announce that specialist retirement income provider Just Retirement becomes the third key provider of specialist financial services to formally endorse and support the SOLLA Brand. This follows the decision by Octopus Investments Limited to become a strategic partner in May 2015, and the decision by Partnership to actively support the SOLLA Standards initiative announced in September 2015.

SOLLA Enterprises Co-Chairman and SOLLA founder, Tish Hanifan, said “The SOLLA Brand is entirely focussed on improving customer outcomes in the later life market. We have gradually developed a proposition that retains genuine independence, but at the same time requires the support of reputable and key players in this market. We have decided that there will be no more than 4 “support” partners, and we are delighted that Just Retirement will be one of them. We expect to announce the fourth and final agreement during the first half of 2016.”

Stephen Lowe, director at specialist retirement income provider Just Retirement, said “The SOLLA team have put together a series of demanding new industry initiatives and standards that aim to benefit consumers and those involved in offering advice. As a specialist financial services group focused exclusively in supporting people approaching and in-retirement we are delighted to have this opportunity to support the development of the SOLLA Brand, and believe that the opportunity exists to offer a framework that will set new levels of trust and confidence in the sector.”

He added “The recent changes in the entire pension’s landscape have created a very challenging task for both customers and advisers. Helping people access advice specifically designed for those in later life should ensure increasing numbers of people achieve better outcomes.”

Jane Finnerty, also SOLLA Enterprises and SOLLA Co-Chairman said “The SOLLA brand is rapidly gaining awareness and credibility in the later life market. We can now offer consumers a number of options, with the need for holistic Later Life advice being best served by talking to SOLLA Full Members who all hold the LLAA (Later Life Adviser Accreditation). For specific advice in areas such as Retirement there are now additional advice standards, and in 2016 we intend to add new standards in Equity Release and Housing and Accommodation.”

Anna Pollins, strategic partnerships manager at Octopus said “It is exciting that SOLLA is adding to its select and credible list of marketing partners with today’s announcement. Retirement planning is a pressing issue for many millions of people, especially given the raft of changes made to pensions in recent years. The introduction of Just Retirement to complement existing SOLLA partnerships can only lead to better support for advisers, and therefore create better client outcomes.”
