Software - The November Edition of the Actuarial Post Magazine

Welcome to our Stars of the Future winners edition, sponsored by Star Actuarial Futures. We received a record number of votes for all our nominees and although they are in a list order the voting has never been closer with only a few votes separating each nominee. However, it gives me great pleasure to congratulate our eventual winner Heidi Webster and to Matthew Gold and Nathan Butterworth who came so close to winning. I hope you enjoy, as with every year, celebrating the talent in our industry by seeing who came where in the standings.

Also in this edition we have several excellent features including a fascinating article called ‘The Greater Storm of 2017 by Matt Raywood, from Sompo Canopius and Dr Gilbert Cassar from Audatex asks is data the new oil for the insurance industry. As always our regular columnists provide their normal insightful views that include Nobel Prize winner Richard Thaler, next generation advice and a brief look ahead to the Autumn budget and much more besides.
