General Insurance Article - Travel Insurance partnership between Chubb and Wizz Air

Chubb announces that it will provide the Wizz Air's customers with travel and flight cancellation insurance cover. It has signed a partnership agreement with the airline, which is the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe.

The agreement is part of Chubb’s strategy to expand its travel insurance partnerships in Europe. Chubb is already the travel insurance provider of choice for a number of major airlines, online travel agencies and financial institutions.

Travellers who book flights via wizzair.com and the Wizz Air mobile app are now able to add either travel or cancellation insurance cover, or both, depending on their location, provided by Chubb. The cover is available in 23 countries in Europe, and in 17 languages.

Donna Dorairajoo, Regional Manager, Travel Insurance for Chubb in Europe, Eurasia and Africa, said: “We are proud to be working with one of Europe’s most successful low-cost airlines that has gone from strength to strength since it was founded in 2003. Wizz Air’s customers can now benefit from our travel and flight cancellation offering which combines good terms, attractive price and, above all, excellent service and support in case of emergency and claims."

George Michalopoulos, Chief Commercial Officer at Wizz Air, said: “At Wizz Air, we are committed to offering the lowest possible fares and an excellent travel experience throughout the WIZZ journey. In Chubb, we have found a partner that will provide our passengers with tailor-made insurance solutions giving them peace of mind that makes travel even more hassle-free and enjoyable. We will keep on improving our service and product portfolio to best meet the needs of our savvy customers.”
