Every minute, four of Britain’s 27 million homeowners make a claim against their home insurance policy1. Although 79% of claims are successful, this doesn’t stop damage to property, the loss of treasured possessions, or someone from experiencing an emotionally distressing situation that could have been prevented.
Neos helps protects homeowners by offering a new technology-driven service. Homeowners are provided with the latest smart home technology products which have been handpicked by Neos experts. This includes a HD Camera, motion sensors, smoke detectors, and smart moisture sensors that detect leaks early – and all are supported by a dedicated 24/7 monitoring system. Everything is controlled from one simple app, giving consumers the option to check on their home from wherever they are and receive alerts the moment any of the sensors are triggered.
In the event of an incident, Neos’ emergency assistance team are on hand 24/7 to take care of everything – from letting you know there’s a problem, to bringing in the right tradespeople to fix it.
If damage can’t be prevented, Neos customers are covered by one of the UK’s most respected insurance providers, Hiscox.
Matt Poll, CEO and co-founder of Neos, comments: “We believe insurance should do far more than just pay out for claims. It’s in the interests of both the consumer and the insurer to actively prevent things from going wrong. That’s why we’re taking a fresh approach to insurance and giving consumers the option to actively protect the home, people and things they care about. We want to create the best insurance experience anywhere in the world.”
The Neos app is available on iOS, with Android to follow later in 2016. The package costs the same as a home insurance quote from Hiscox which includes home emergency cover, plus a £9.50 monthly service fee. Homeowners also benefit from £650 worth of smart technology kit for free with the service, which can be installed for you or self-installed within 30 minutes.
Neos is protected by bank-grade encryption technology to make sure data from devices is kept safe and secure, meaning no-one but the homeowner will be able to access information about their home. The technology, which is managed via the Neos hub, is based on an open architecture, meaning trusted third party apps and equipment can easily be integrated.
Krystian Zajac, Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Neos, comments: “Whilst many people already enjoy the benefits of connected home products, we believe many more are confused by the variety of products on the market and the fact many devices can’t talk to each other. We’re solving this by handpicking products and ensuring they’re interoperable.”
Neos was co-founded by Matt Poll and Krystian Zajac in December 2015. Poll was previously commercial director of MORE TH>N and held senior roles at AXA and RSA, whilst Zajac already runs a series of successful technology businesses.
