Life - Articles - Vitality comment on launch of Martin Lewis' new think tank

Shaun Subel, Director at VitalityHealth, comments on the launch of Martin Lewis’ new think tank, the Money and Mental Health Policy Institute:

“Mental wellbeing is proven to link to both productivity and physical wellbeing, meaning individuals’ health and work output are at risk when they suffer from stress or depression. Our Britain’s Healthiest Workplace study shows almost three-quarters (73%) of the working population are suffering from at least one aspect of work-related stress, with one of the biggest contributing factors being financial concerns (23%). Lack of support and financial guidance can burden many in the workplace, which can lead to employees feeling isolated and can have a detrimental effect on their mental health.

"While many companies are putting measures in place to counteract the ill effects of stress and low morale, more needs to be done. We would urge all companies, big or small, to protect their employees and business bottom line by taking an active role in creating a happy and healthy workplace environment and supporting sustained lifestyle changes”
