Lifestyle Article - Willis Towers Watson announce two new senior appointments

Willis Towers Watson has strengthened its Insurance Consulting and Technology business with two new senior appointments as it continues to pursue its strategy for fulfilling the growing market demand for integrated, insurance-specific advisory and technology solutions.

Based in London, Neil Bruce joins the UK P&C Insurance Consulting and Technology team from Travelers Syndicate Management, where he was Chief Actuary for over nine years. In addition to actuarial delivery for the Syndicate, Neil was responsible for re-engineering the end-to-end reserving processes and improving the understanding and impact of actuarial delivery to underwriters and management.

Neil brings over 20 years of experience across insurance consulting and the Lloyds/London Market and has held advisory and committee appointments in the IFoA, including setting up the Towards the Optimal Reserving Process working party and being co-deputy chair of the LMA actuarial committee. Prior to Travelers, Neil was Group Actuary at Creechurch Underwriting and spent eight years at PWC.

In addition, Tim Rourke joins the Insurance Consulting and Technology team from LV=, where he held a number of senior roles including Head of Broker Pricing and, latterly, Head of Personal Lines Underwriting. At LV=, he delivered business transformation to maximise the benefits achieved from broker partnerships.

Tim has over 15 years of experience in senior roles in the UK personal lines insurance industry and, prior to LV=, he led the Personal Lines pricing function at Ageas, with responsibility for the Home, Motor, Commercial Vehicle and non-standard business lines.

Tammy Richardson, Managing Director, UK P&C Leader, Willis Towers Watson, said: “We are delighted Neil and Tim are joining our growing advisory practice in Insurance Consulting and Technology. We look forward to leveraging their considerable experience, technical expertise and market relationships to ensure we continue to provide our clients with leading edge solutions that span strategy and operations through to advanced analytics.”

Commenting on his new appointment, Neil said: “I'm looking forward to harnessing the vast capability of the Willis Towers Watson group, which has a strong track record for solving business problems through its deep understanding of insurance and cutting-edge technical and software solutions.”

Tim Rourke said: “I am delighted to be responsible for developing new consulting propositions for our clients in order to help them achieve improved business performance, as the sector continues to face a volatile and challenging risk environment.”
