Lifestyle Article - Willis Towers Watson appoints Gary Williams

Willis Towers Watson has strengthened its Insurance Consulting and Technology business (Risk Consulting and Software - “RCS”) by appointing Gary Williams to lead the global development of the firm’s business management and customer management activities in the insurance sector. This follows a number of recent appointments including Steve Hardwick, Heloise Rossouw and Marcus Bowser, as the company continues to enhance its presence and impact across the insurance markets in the UK and globally.

Gary has over 20 years of industry experience and joins Willis Towers Watson from Zurich where, most recently, he was Global Head of Proposition. Prior to this, he held a variety of senior roles in Zurich’s UK and Global Life businesses, including the position of Commercial Director for their Corporate Life & Pensions division.

As part of an expanding team, Gary will be charged with leading Willis Towers Watson’s current business management and customer management offerings globally. This role will focus on working with Executive teams in the insurance industry, becoming a trusted partner in helping them improve their business performance through business management themes such as new business optimisation, cost efficiency, customer management and centricity, business model evolution and in-force/portfolio management.

Michael Murphy, RCS Managing Director and Global Leader at Willis Towers Watson, said: “Gary is an excellent addition to our team and we are delighted to have someone of his experience on board at this exciting stage in developing our business globally and also in the UK where he will be based.

“The insurance industry is going through a period of change and we are focused on providing innovative insights and transformative solutions to our clients that increase their client focus and significantly improve business performance. Gary’s exceptional skill set and proven track record at Executive level will be ideal to lead our business in supporting our clients from the vision of customer centricity through to successful delivery of customer-focused solutions.”

Gary Williams said: “I am excited to be joining Willis Towers Watson, which already has a strong track record for solving business problems through its deep understanding of insurance and cutting-edge technical and software solutions. I am delighted to be responsible for leading an area that is currently so topical and important to our clients. I believe we have the opportunity and capabilities to transform how insurers do business for the mutual benefit of our clients and their customers.”
