In his new role, Ali will focus on building Hymans Robertson’s GI practice, with a particular emphasis on developing a robust reserving offering. Leveraging his deep expertise, Ali will oversee the creation of innovative reserving solutions tailored to the challenges of the London Market. His work will address emerging risks, enhance reserving processes, and support clients in navigating an increasingly complex landscape.
Ali joined Hymans Robertson in 2023, from Deloitte, where he worked for almost a decade. Ali has extensive reserving experience leading independent reviews, uncertainty analysis and process reviews and transformations. In previous roles, Ali has headed-up in-house reserving, overseeing and communicating GAAP and Solvency technical provisions as well as the development, testing and validation of various actuarial tools and models. He has also led various high impact projects such as building and implementing new reserving models for global insurers, conducting latent claims reviews for the UK government and supporting M&A activities through comprehensive reserve assessments across multiple geographies. Ali has been leading the development innovative reserving methods to address evolving GI liabilities for newer risks like Cyber, Political Violence and liabilities from the sharing economy.
